Whistler Creekbread, Karen Crescent, Whistler, BC
Whistler Creekbread is one of the most popular restaurants in Whistler with locals and visitors to Creekside. Guests staying in the main village may not gt to hear of this great establishment, which is worth the short bus ride or easy bike ride on the valley trail at Whistler Creekside. As soon as you enter the restaurant you will know you have found something special, and unusual. In the corner is a large clay oven, a fresh pile of logs for fuel, and a clear philosophy that demonstrates a connection to the community and to organic ingredients.
At “Creekbread”, the food is sacred. Unquote. They use local and organic ingredients whenever possible, and only use fire to cook. It's quite a site to see the chef leave the kitchen and chop logs next to your table. Our kids loved it! The open kitchen and hand-made clay oven are visible for everyone to see, the philosophy being for everyone to experience from preparation to plate.
The menu includes some choices that you will not have seen before, and clearly shows the love that this restaurant have put into the menu. It is designed around organic and flavour. My favourite is "Mopsy’s Kalua Pork" described as hardwood smoked free-range pork shoulder, housemade organic mango BBQ sauce, organic red onions, fresh pineapple, Happy Days Farm goat cheese, premium whole milk mozzarella, Asiago cheese and our own blend of organic herbs. Tell me that doesn't make your mouth water.
Sarah opted for a vegetarian option and chose the Pemberton Potato Pie – thinly sliced, oven roasted Pemberton potatoes, organic rosemary cream sauce, roasted whole garlic cloves, organic baby spinach, whole milk mozzarella, fontina and Asiago cheeses. We shared an organic salad, which I have to say had more flavour than I can do justice in this review.
A few of our menu favorites include the following:
Homemade Sausage - housemade nitrate-free maple-fennel sausage with organic sulfate-free sundried tomatoes, caramelized organic onions, BC grown mushrooms, whole milk mozzarella and Asiago cheese baked on organic bread dough with housemade garlic oil and our own blend of organic herbs 16 inch $26.00 / 12 inch $17.75
Coevolution - imported Kalamata olives, rosemary, organic red onions, Happy Days
farm goat cheese, BC fire-roasted sweet red peppers, and premium whole milk mozzarella baked on organic bread dough with housemade garlic oil and our own blend of organic herbs 16 inch $26.25 / 12 inch $18.00

12 inch Jay’s Heart – housemade, wood-fired cauldron organic tomato sauce, premium whole milk mozzarella and Asiago cheese baked on organic bread dough with garlic oil and our own blend of organic herbs 16 inch 19.75 12 inch
Whistler Community Creekbread – our wood-fired cauldron tomato sauce, caramelized organic onions, BC grown mushrooms, premium whole milk mozzarella and Asiago cheese baked on organic bread dough with housemade garlic oil, sprinkled with our own blend of organic herbs
The Bottom Line
Creekbread is a great family dining experience, which doesn't feel like the usual guilt associated with pizza dining. Everything is made-from-scratch, all-original recipes and the clay oven inside the restaurant add to the genuine authenticity of the experience. A really great family place to eat.
